Starting off with the simple things, i think!

I'm expecting my Golf to look alot like this over the coming months…..

….and all i was doing was taking out an aftermarket alarm and some random wires that were once upon a time connected to some fog lights

Must have been at least 15 metres of the stuff….

Thats not all of it…… But it did lead me to taking out the lower dash!

With this being my first golf and my first ever project ive enlisted the help of a friend and am learning very fast!

Has anyone else discovered that a Haynes manuel has become there new book of choice? lol :-)

Plans, Ahhhhh…… What is it they say about the best laid plans and all that? Lol.

Although it doesn't look like it, there is a fair amount of rust dotted about here and there. Luckily it has been undersealed afew years ago so underneath is pretty solid.

The plan however is to save up some pennies for a respray in it's original Mars Red. I've managed to get a non-sunroof roof to replace the aftermarket sunroof I already have. So with any luck that'll all be completed at the same time.

In the short term however I'm gonna concentrate on sorting out niggely little things like replacing wires and making things look generally tidier and neater.

Is this the right forum to post more pics of a rolling project? :-)

Hi all!

Its been pretty sporadic but work on my Red Machine has continued…… New Cam belt, new Fan belt, new water pump pulley, and other bits. It doesn't sound alot i know. lol….. but…..

The Majority of my time has been spent removing parts such as the Fan belt housing, cam belt cover,  fan motor, alternator bracket, crank shaft pulley….

…… and sanding the rust off them and respraying them in a nice gloss black. I dont have pictures of them just yet, but im really pleased with the result.

Meantime, the pennies keep getting collected ready for a respray in the new year!

I can see!

A mate and I fitted a new Blower Motor today.

Not sure how many of you have had to do this before? But blimey, its a fiddlley little job! lol.

Of course it does now mean that i can see out of the Windscreen on a soggy day without having to constantly wipe the window. Result!

Oh…. and while the pipes were off i changed the water too. Simples :-)

Hope your all having a fun weekend too.

Dan.
