I would buy one fully restored and save the costs

depends on what it needs tbh.
just a few panels welded in and painted cost me the best part of ?3500.
Helps if you can do the mechanical parts yourself.
Like chudd said though it would be alot cheaper to buy one already done but not quite as satisfying.
