Replacing inner and outer cvs

I am looking for some info on how to split the cv's on the inner and outer on my mk1 any idea as i cant seem to see how this is done any ideas or help greatly appreciated..

the outer ones have a clip you basicaly get a big hammer hold them straight and bang them off the inners have a circlip also iirc

Sometimes helps if you have a good bench and vice to grip the shaft in and then hit the cv with a good hammer.

good hammer = biggest you can find i use a club hammer
