Project Golfolo or polf

Hi there,

Well here we are with my project mk1 golf. Its a pretty straight and solid old girl with only one hole the size of a 50p in the spare wheel well. Other than that shes not in bad nick just needs a bit of tidying to make her perfect. A few niggles i have at the mo is the rad fans bearings have gone so a new one will be going in this week along with low temperature fan switch thermostat and temp sender as i have the annoying flashing engine temp problem so hopefully these upgrades will cure it!!

 Starting with the engine im stripping bits off cleaning them up and powdercoating them at work so thats an easy job and may chrome a few parts for a bit more shine.
Also im getting the guys at work to make me a nice new numberplate holder as in the pics you will see mine is rotten. Other work in progress is i have taken the windscreen wiper mech off as on slow speed they were sticking and upon taking them off found one of the wiper spline parts was jammed pretty much solid with dirt and grime so all that is getting cleaned off new nuts bolts washers and powdercoating of the bracket and motor so all is good!

The longterm plan with my golf is to G60 or S3 the engine but am liking the idea of putting a mk5 polo (9n3) dash in so i may put the same polo gti engine in too as my dad had the polo gti and was surprisingly rapid. Therefore transorming my golf into a golfolo or a polf i suppose!

Not sure about what to do with the interior as in seats and door cards but i really liked my 1 off interior i had in my corrado so may do another take on that! see my photobucket corrado album if you want to know what im on about!

nice lookin motor, not really a golfolo or polf thou, theres a thread on here i wish i could find, some bloke has made polf as you would say, a complete rear end of a polo stuck on the back of a golf looks like a slightly stretch golf from memory

take alook around the forum fella if you can find it, its a really stunning car even if i did moan about it at the time lol

Ok Ok it would only ever be a polo where you wouldnt notice if it drove past!! (engine and dash)
I couldnt change the exterior look of the mk1 though i like it to much it has real character but fair play to the guy who did it! Its all personal preference i guess!!
