project golf

Hi all i am looking to get a mk1 golf as a project but would like to no some things to look out for. the car i have been offered has a 1.8 engine in it with 150.000 miles on it i am looking to restore the car as much as i can i have been around vw before i rebuilt a 68 beetle so am keen to start the golf soon but will need help so i hope to here your comments thanks
