project Adahlia - mk1 driver restoration

might as well get this started now. last outing in the golf for a while today, god was it eventful.

leaking petrol and oil all day, getting lost  dave , then my fuel pump decided to detach itself from my car

walked half a mile to get petrol, wouldn't start, popped the bonnet and there is my fuel pump hanging off the head (small block).

AA came and towed us back to the unit, finally got home at half 9.

a few pics from today's outing

new home.

plans are to keep her looking standard from the outside, nice wheels, nice interior, and a monster engine

Oh and good look etc with the build.

If you're stuck for spare hands I'll help out if I can.
My van may also be on the road at some point so give us a shout for any big lifts.

8) Good choice, strangly I think the styling you've done will suit having a G60 under the bonnet

if that makes sense!

What are your wheels and what are your tyre size if you dont mind me asking?  I got a set of MIM1700 and my plan before i saw yours was to have it similar to the way yours in….but in another colour of course.

doors are off now, windows out, all wiring execpt rear loom (out tonight)

got all the carpet up, just have to start cleaning the floor pan  :banghead:

dash out, all looms fully labelled and corresponding labels on the fuse box, i hate wiring, so trying to make it as simple as possible!

engine bay is totally bare bar downpipe & master cylinder/brake linkage.

try and get some photos sorted tonight.

might get the wings off this weekend, chrome trim off, tailgate off and windscreen out.

need to sort the roof of the unit out though, leaks in spots, old asbestos roof.

one of the lads down there has covered his with pond lining and tyres, so i think that's going to be our best bet.

Yours on coilovers?  Whats the ride like with the tyres if you dont mind me asking?

Post

yep, on FK Highsports. ride isn't too bad, obviously would be better on a 195/50 or similar, the 165/50 tucks them away nicely though.
