One Owner GTi Cab

Hi guys, I just thought I'd put this up for you to have a look at.
Its a 86 D GTi, One Owner, FSH and only 49,500 miles from new.

I collected it yesterday and will start its refub next year.

I bought the car off of the lady who bought it new. It was garaged for the first 17 years of its life but when her mother moved into a home the garage got filled with furniture so the car lived outside. I have most if the MOT's and a fully stamped up service book, she is trying to find other bits for me. Fingers crossed!!  :D

I have had a look all over the car and it appears to be Uber solid and maybe even waxoiled from new, but it is very very dirty!

Are these all white cars a special edition of have a specific name?

Thanks for looking, I am after a few bits for it if anyone can help?

*Wanted*

Black trims for either side of the front screen
Boot Strut
Driver seat base

Looks like a good base for a mini project, looks to be very original and 1 owner is always a good bet nobodys hacked at the electrics or anything else!!!

I think this version was called "triple white" but dont quote me on that! the wheels are refered to as "snowflakes" but are really called "Avus"  has it got a white interior?

The cabriolet Gti didnt come with the wide black windscreen pilar trims if thats what you mean? be carefull if you did fit some as they can cause leaks into the car when you lift the windscreen rubber to fit them

bit of elbow grease and a good polish will see it looking loads better 8)

This is what I am after, I have one but the other is missing.

It does look like a monster cleaing session in the neww year. I am going to get a new roof from Chequers and get the wheels refinished. I ahve found a set of rear seats on thesamba.com which I am going to use to repair the drivers bolster.

Should be fun to fill some time while this is awat being dipped!!

I just got me one of these in red, although an 87 Dplate.  I believe they are quartet models.  Mine is a GTI too, lovely car although she's really down on power, so looking into that, but overall lovely cars.

Shame you don't have a full set of the original alloys there..

I think the quartets were not UK market, although I could be wrong!

The wheels are all the same but the fronts are much dirtier!!:D

Loads of them A pillar trims on ebay. Crazyquif sells 'em too.

As for the wheels, Avus, Snowflake and Scala, all the same thing mate.

Interior is the major bit now, I have bought some material off of 1golfahead but its taking a while to arrive.

Still nothing arrived for the seats but the roof is done:

There was no rust at all when the roof came off.

The fitter said the lining was the best he'd seen.

I now have the material to repair my from seat from 1Golfahead. My trimmer should be picking up the seats next week.

Pillar trims still not here :( I will have to look into if I can stop payment.

I have just had two big bills to pay out on the Beetle so I need to think about if I can keep it and/or finish it :(
