not one , not two, but three

Actually three is a lie its actually 5!. but i will only mention the vws here. first the oldest project an 83 gti all white ltd edition cab. this is my girlfriends car, was bought in 2002 . low milage and a lot better than all the others we loked at. was used for great summers blatting round always with roof down. in 2006 it was taken of the road for a full restoration as was begining to look a bit tatty, someone had removed the white bumpers and trim and interior was looking very threadbare. so a full respray and retrim is in order, it was stripped and is now waiting for small amount of welding then the repaint can begin

next mine this is an 83 gti is was bought soon after her cab originally only for the dashboard and as spares for ?100 after a collision with a citroen

plans changed and it was rebuilt with new front end and repaint.

it was my daily for a while then i discovered trackdays car completly stripped, caged and thrashed round oulton park. with 2.0l tall block conversion.

now has been stripped again to completly bare shell and rebuilt with all new parts will soon have tsr1900 on dellorto 40's plastic panels as well as windows. big brakes and an lsd

we both love our mk1s and one day ( soon or im dead  ) they will be finished. i will try to take more pics as they progress it might make me get my finger out

i have finally got my finger out and finally got stuck into one of the cars MINE  8)  i was sorting out the garage and found the fire extinguisher that i bought for it when i started it was 3 years out of date     and the date stamp when new was 5 years ago so 5 years later i get stuck in properly

when the car was stored in the several garages its been in it was rust free. after 5 years a small amount of surface rust had appeared

so the expert was called in and heres KEVL  doing his thing hopefully stiching back together the shell

and heres some of the finished work must paint i know as its a track car strength wins over looks but still a very neat job

hope more progres and pics soon
