NikNaks Golden Wonder!

Hi Guys,
The latest addition to our family arrived late last night…A gift from my better half (Sparkstu ) He drove it all the way from Dundee (9.5 hours  8O ) They both arrived in one piece, just one minor breakdown on the M6. A fuel blockage that was quickly resolved with an emergency call to Lawsy ( many thanks    ).

Have a look and see what you think. It's a 1.5GL Auto. a bit of work required but generally in good nick. I hope a trip to the bodyshop in the next couple of weeks will transform it from a Golden Blunder to a Golden Wonder  :wink:  Just in time for the annual gathering!

No worries on the issue - glad stu was able to sort it - sam thing happened to mine and many other alike!!

But at least now you've got a 'proper' mk1  :mrgreen:  :mrgreen:  :mrgreen:  more doors FTW!!!

good call mate, gla dyou made it back ok, I bet it wondered what hit it - 495 miles after a while of not going far - nice one mate!!

Ok, here is the car ready for the respray next week, and yes we did find the dreaded rust under the rear spats.       New arches ordered from CrazyQuiffs, along with rear panel, filler area panel, and a replacement tail gate. Yes we're keeping it original ?? LOL WHATEVER THAT IS  :roll:   :roll: Watch this space for pics. We should have it back around July 15. Hopefully will look a bit more shiny when it returns  :cheer:   

wow looks like you have a lot planned, where are you getting it sprayed???

It's going to Bristol to a guy called Steve, who was recommended by a collegue. He has had alot of work done by Steve because he's a bit accident prone  

Couldn't find anyone in Hampshire or Berks who wanted to work on a classic  :?

I hope it'll be ready for Coombe Abbey

Did you try Bodytone in Wokingham? I've heard good things about them & they have done a few VW's

Keeping the same colour or changing?

Would love to know how you get on with Steve, I have a Mk1 in Bristol that is itching for a respray, would be good to know how good his work is.

Nobody told me about Bodytone  :doh: I'll remember for next time! Have you used them?

It's going to be the original colour…similar but not quite as golden   I've still got the original colour code on a label inside the rear slam panel.

J, Let you know how it went when I get it back  :wink:  fingers crossed

I like the coulour it is.. its different

Will be keeping my eye out!
