Newbie bringing back a GTI
Only just joinied the site.
Picked up the GTI on Wednesday, its been stored apparntly for the last 12 years and not started for that time either.
Checked it over at work on the ramp nice and solid underneath, needs front wings, bonnet , pair sills , and poss tailgate.
Removed the fuel tank and connected up pump to jerry can its started up although does sound a bit rough .
Got a couple of question's if any of you can help me, i need to get hold of a sunroof panal ( tin) and the fuel pipes from pump to accumalator and from there to front any ideas.
Still a lot stripped out so far in just a few days all the panals are oredred so engine out next week and rest of front end.
cheers

I have fitted complete new sills, complete new front panal, cut out and fitted 2 rear wheel arch repairs new front wings and a new bonnet.
Manage to find a mint tin sunroof, bought complete set of glass rubber seals and new front screen coming so hopefully in couple wks the car will be painted and water tight.
Then the fun bit for me at least rebuild the mechanicals as a tech thats the bit i like, find the cutting and welding hard work but thats all done so happy days.
