New Series 1 Project (At Last!)

Picked it up today, shes t&t' and insured with FJ for ?99, bargain.
Managed the 150 miles home without a hitch, in horrendous traffic.
Overall the car is in great shape, very original with a few very minor blemishes….Watch this space!

Bit of progress… 8)
the original..

lots of goodies

engine out..

engine in..

in situ..

So were getting there, just got all the loom and plumbing to do now and the tank to swap, getting the engine in felt like a big step, just itching to drive it now! although with the sump being about 2mm off the floor i can only go up the drive and back!!
Once its in we can get it all looking nice and shiny….

Why is the sump 2mm off the floor ?

Is the BAM engine taller than other 20v's or is the sump just bigger ? :dontknow:

the car was pretty low anyway as its wound down on coilovers, ill see how it sits with the new wheels on then ill probably just wind them up a bit. the bam engines sump is no lower than normal.

Spent the day in the rain yesterday swapping the petrol tank over, quite a job in itself! also as weve got the added headache of converting from auto to manual, we swapped the steering column and pedals.

A sneaky peak of the wheels ive had back….

They were 13x5" but ive had them widened to 7 front and 8 rear, they do look nice with the chrome center cap in, just wanted to keep it looking original!

Cheers! the 100mm shafts were brand new from cvp services in coventry.
I couldnt find any at the time so opted for some shiny ones. 8)
