new project help please

hi all i got a Mk1 gti project which i need a little help with, hoping the i can get some tips off the experts thats why I'm on here. lol

its a 1 litre shell with the engine mounts modified to fit a 1.8 gti engine. its white. i have lots of spare for it including two engines two dashes and loads of trim

i was looking at putting some weber carbs on it. and then using it as a track-day car at weekends and a bit of a fun runabout in the week. i got a mk4 turbo as a daily

I'm just after a bit of direction and some suggestions. if anyone is in the bicester area and wants to earn themselves some beers in return for a little help that would be great too

some of the ideas i got is euro look exterior. basic interior but as standard as possible with maybe a roll over hoop standard seats i can take out at weekends. fuel cell, relocated battery, perspex windows no stereo lots of gauges

done alot of work up the camp am electrician by trade theres quite a few people breaking golfs around here at the moment so if you need any bits can give you some numbers if you need anything do you keep yours at the camp or have you a garage in town ill pm you my number my bird works up the officers mess in admin havent seen any mk1s up there you been up there long

i'm in the reme i been here about a year. my mk1 in outside the workshop (on the right as you enter camp) its in a sorry state at the mo the engine is out, the gearbox and clutch is in the boot. theres a load of spares on the rear seats lol

i will hopefully be getting it inside this week and getting one of the engine in with the gearbox getting it started it another thing as i think there are parts missing and i havn't got a clue about the injection system

my boss dosn't like the fact that i've had it a while and done next to nothing to it so i gotta get it started. lol

next time i give her a lift in ill keep my eye out for it least you got a massive workshop to work in got a mate in bicester whos got 4 mk1s whos quite good on the engines so he should be able to help with any stuff mate

got the engine ane gearbox in on their mounts just to keep my boss off my back.lol

i'll be overhauling the engine(the one thats out) and paining it i'll try and get it done by next month allso try and overhaul the rear axle front suspension with poly bushes new bearings and new brakes.

i got a set on mk3 4stud wheels to put it on while i get tryes and try and do some thing with the wheels that are on in now might sell them as there not to my liking. i wouldn't mind some Compomotive wheels

i can see this is going to drain my bank account quicker then my girlfriend does.
