Very nice ride. Theres a lot of things that arent to my taste, but i can fully appreciate the amount of time and effort that it takes to get a car looking that good. Good work fella!!  :D

got some flat caps on order for the borbets aswell.

prefer the flat cap look :)

Great work there.. everything new, crisp and fresh one time..  the wheels suit it.. and bet the interior smells heavenly..

i'd like to take mine down a similar styling route..  very sleek this one

work so far:

on my 1981 3dr hardtop GTI TSR 1950cc. New custom made group N rally 4 branch manifold and full exhaust system. Induction kit, full service whole car checked over.

1983 front original cabrio GTI seats with tilt and recline, rear bench original, all re-trimmed in black nappa leather and blue piping, blue stitched GTI in front seats, black stitched VW logo in all 4 headrests, new insulation, new black carpets, new mats,
refurbed dash completly stripped down (polished heater knobs, VW polished air vents, Chrome lighter blue led, new blower vents, new blower vent ducts, all dash and clock lamps changed to blue led's (made myself).   
new peddal rubbers, new chrome hand brake cover, new chrome gear knob with blue led, new black leather blue stitched gaitors,
new CD/SD stereo and chrome front door speakers, rear chrome parcel shelf speakers all new wiring, new leather parcel shelf. (made by me)
new seat belts, new steering wheel,
new door cards front and rear, new door pulls, new chrome door openers, new chrome window winders.
new door seals, new window seals and scrapers.
new boot lining original refurbed. new wheel well cover, new spare wheel space saver, wheel well, re-painted black gloss.
Gemini CAT1 full closure alarm fiited whilst dash was out, fitted to bulkhead, central locking, doors now unlock on key fob, boot also unlocks of key fob!!! cool!!!
new borbet A wheels with 195/40/16 toyo proxes T1R, flat borbet caps also on order.
and lots of cleaning, cost me ?150 so far in auto glym stuff,
still got engine bay work (some new chrome stuff to fit) and purple samco hoses on order.
its been a busy 5 months mate and i've spent approx ?4000-?4500 on it, upto now not including what i paid for the car!!!
but again WELL WORTH IT :mrgreen:  :mrgreen:

Good quality job mate - Love the Borbetts alloys - always looks spot on bolted to a MK1 IMO 8)

nice one, although I can't help noticing you need to fit those heater controls properly, I got some for my brothers cabby and they stuck out MILES, and the heater knob itself wouldn't fit in the switch hole. You have to crack the sandpaper / file out and do a bit of fitting on them, they are now flush with the dash just like the stock ones.

Car is looking very nice!  :D

yes i know mate, already filed them down, took me ages to fit, they were a pain,
but they dont stick out …………………….alot :lol:  :lol:

got them in as far as i could, :roll:

Very cool -really like it, sort of a 90's feel. Don't know why I say that but that's the vibe I get.
I think there are loads of cool details - the VW air vents are a wicked detailing touch and the interior - WOW  8O  that's some very well spent money.
