Hi all
Just a few words and pics on my cabby I got it last November after a guy asked me to get it running for him.  It had been garaged for 5 years but he had lost the use of the garage so he was keeping it on his drive.  Managed to get it running and ended up buying it after my lad (22 years old) and myself (a lot older) fell in love with it.
The paint and body work is in pretty good  condition had re spray at some time the only rust I can find is on both sides of the car just in front of the rear wheel arches.
The hood had seen better days and had split along the seams and had a few rips in it so water  had got into the car,  the seats and carpet  were a very wet  also the rear window frame had rotted away. The driver's seat was worn in the usual places.

The first  thing I did when I got it home was to make the hood water tight as it has to be kept outside and then got a cover for it.
After that I started on the engine with a cam belt oil and air filter spark plugs and antifreeze while I was working on the engine i also changed most of the water hoses as the bottom hose as perished.
At this time she started ok but the choke was not working as it should and the rear brakes were sticking on.
So I set about sorting out the brakes new shoes drums cylinders cables bearings and new brake hoses next came the gear box oil (auto) on checking the oil it looked more like old engine oil.
Started thinking about the mot on checking it over the only other thing I could find wrong with it was headlight not working blown bulb and number plate lights not working, got that sorted out  so down to the mot station passed first time.
Now came the hard work managed to get a roof off e bay it was still on the frame complete with headlining and sound proofing  and it had a good window frame it did not have any side or rear tension cables so sent away for some. The side cables only had 1 loop on it and not knowing what length to fix the second loop at what I did was to get some electric connectors the type that come in strips cut 1 off take off the plastic insulation and thread the cable through then around the spring and back through the connector so I can now adjust the length of the cable.

Next out came the seats and carpet and door cards I got some cheap carpet and vinyl off e bay and with help from the lad fitted the carpet and recovered the door cards. I then ordered some new covers for the seats and fitted them.

Still got a problem with the choke not working it will start up from cold but it only ticks over at about 500 rpm till it gets warm slowly getting my head around the 2e2 carb after looking at the posts . Hope to have a good go at it next week.
Not sure what to do about the wheels as when I got the car it came with a set of refurbished Pirelli p rims.
