my new impulse ebay buy! problem with the head though?

bought this off ebay yesterday,these are all the pics i have at the moment as i havnt seen it yet! hoping to have it delivered on thursday so will get more pics up then
to be honest im happy with it,i love lhasa green golfs and it doesnt look that bad to me,i really regret not finishing my last tin top so ive been looking for a project for the last few weeks and this rusty little beauty popped up so i had a bid and got it for a fair price i think/hope  :mrgreen:

I know how that feels! Just got my project started for the first time! it feels good!!!

anyone got any idea what the name/make of the wheels are please?  

They look like 14" ATS Cups to me mate - the original Cups look different to the one's that you can get nowadays. Nice looking project!  8)

Hi there - it looks largely complete and with an upgraded master cylinder / servo by the looks.

wow, looks better than mine did when i got him (for the missus) mine had been stood fo 12 years and is now a rolling shell, good luck with the project

Yes, they look like ATS Cups alright and may well have VW cast into them. They used to use that size in the VW Cup racing back in the 70's

 its coming from coventry to west heath so keep your eyes peeled,and if you see anything fall of like sills or arches please drop them round

    off to Nottingham t,moz,back in b,ham lunch time ish….will keep my eye out.

 

well she arrived today and im well happy with the condition,the rust isnt as bad as i was expecting,it will need at least one full arch a rear panel and the front sills will need looking at as it looks like its bottomed out on a speed bump at some time
the interior is in very good condition just needs a bloody good clean as its minging  
i did how ever find a few extra goodies that wasnt in the add:
rear disc conversion
uprated servo/master cylinder
uprated suspension
has been re mapped
tubular 4 branch manifold
what a bonus  8O
heres a few pics after a quick wash:












the engine did run for around 10 seconds earlier but was spitting fuel out around one of the spark plugs so im going to change it for another gti engine i have as i know that ones good
