My New GTi
On first attemps of driving i did think the brakes could of done with renewing, but after a few days i have got used to them and them dont seem at all too bad, just not quite as good as an everyday modern car.
My one question thou is with the gear box, all gears are ok barring 1st and 5th which are sometime a little hard to find, and it grinds going into reverse, has any one any ideas as to what would be best for it???

Please mark where the spline bit sits (near the front of the engine) as you'll need to line it up after renewal. If you don't get it right you'll have problems selecting gears.
It really is simple though so don't let that put you off. It's good to have a bit of experience and I was chuffed when I done mine

There is also a slight oil leak somewhere, i will be invistigating that tonight, also when it is running, it slighlty spits oil onto the manifold, so ordered a new rocker cover gasket from VW

I love these forums, you always get your answer back on minutes lol, i do have a lot of experiance with cars, but nothing to this age, and i thort it best to ask on here first before i start ripping it to pieces, as i fort this may just be a common problem with these?????

Engine is already cam'd i think cos it dont half shift and has a slighlty funy idle, also got a 421 manifold
Slight bit of rust here and there, but nothing major and the chassi is fantastic
Then going to give it a really good valet and detail through my own company
