My mk1 :)
The engine is made up of a Mk3 2.0l ABF bottom end that had 55K on it when fitted. It now has 70k. The block was inspected and found to be in perfect condition.
Baffled sump. Oil cooler and sandwich plate (seals just replaced). Custom oil catch tank and breather.
4 branch Ashley manifold with 2.5? Jetex Rally system (90d
The head is a Dave Crissel (man in the shed) head that has been ported and polished to aid the flow of gasses. The head now has 15k on it. It is is fitted with KR cams that deliver amazing 'punch'
I still run a K-jet injection system that includes the a modified Warm Up Regulator (WUR) to increase the fuelling. A modified air box with cold air feed houses a K&N panel filter that gives a fantastic induction sound.
I have just had the fuelling set up at Storm Developments on the 19/09/08 and have replaced the spark plugs and added a new set of Dubsport HT leads as one of the old ones was on its way out.
The car managed 200.5bhp and 180ftlbs at the flywheel, so in a car weighing 800kgs wet, that gives a power to weight ratio of 250.6bhp/ton.
Hotgolf gearbox rebuild using Mk1 FD box in ACD casing (16v ratios with 3.89 final drive) using rod change. Helix triple clutch, lightened flywheel, new friction disc, refurbed pressure plate, and an amazing Pelaquin diff.
Quick shift (rose jointed) with extended gear lever. Avo Coilover height and damper adjustable suspension(checked by AVO this year and one refurbed) with a selection of spring rates(2 sets of springs) and solid adjustable eccentric top mounts. Revised geometry - Ball joint spacers and rose jointed track rods (new 500 miles ago) to allow addition lowering without affecting factory rollcentres. New top mount bushes (solid ally) fitted 500 miles ago.
Converted to studs front and rear for easier wheel changing.
Eibach Anti Roll bars, front lower and rear upper Strut braces and polybushed throughout.
VR6/G60 front brakes (280?s)Fully stripped out interior with roll cage foot plates polycarbonate windows front rearr and rear screen also mounting point for video camera Managed not in my ownership 8 mins 50 round the ring
