My MK1 Road legal race car

Hello guys, just thought I'd share a few pics of my Golf, I posted a few a while back in the Newbies bit when I joined but the car has since been finished (well in it's current guise )

Here she was when I first bought her - end of 2009

Then a bit of this

and a bit of that

a dash of this

a smattering of GSXR

If you look closely at the photo below, you can see the gearbox destroying itself   Anyway bargain £30 16V AQB code 'box in now  :D

Anyway, it isn't fast enough, so I've just bought a TT/Octavia VRS spec 20VT which is going in over winter - along with a big intercooler/remap etc (230bhp ish) along with a bias pedal box to get shot of that crappy linkage, and a few other bits and bobs  :D

Cheers dude, all the cage work (and the bulk of the build) was done by Rob Judge at RNJ Motorsport, it feels like a touring car inside!

Not quick enough, I never had it set up on the dyno, running low 16's on street tyres. Although it is a complete track weapon, T1R's, coilovers, rear camber mods, proper stiff shell, it's like driving a stupidly quick go-kart!

I'm gonna miss the induction noise when the 20VT goes in, but 230 odd horses should make up for it   :D

Slight update - no photos yet though.

I've got a VRS AUQ motor, and an O2J box. I'm picking up some mounts from James Hodson (Sub11 Motorsport) this weekend, and I've bought a G60 flywheel, the various bits of loom/ECU, a Tilton bias pedal box (gonna get shot of that linkage whilst the engine is out) a VRS cable shifter, poly mounts, various bolts, a VR6 clutch, and a DBW pedal.

The rough plan is head up to my mate Rob Judges (RNJ Motorsport) where the engine and box currently living - Robs very kindly letting me use his workshop to fit the engine/box (which will include ditching the DMF and a full service on the motor) then Rob's fabbing me up a side exit exhaust and some intercooler mounts, then it's off to Sub11 for the wiring (I hate wiring!!)hoses, dump valve, a remap/rolling road sesh.

Fingers x'd for about 230ish BHP  :D Which should be rapid in a very stripped out MK1!
