my mk1 resto

hi i was on hear a couple of months ago when brought my mk1 golf formel e in white well since then alot has happen starting with mot pass after sitting in fild for 2 year all needed was a tyre witch was amazing then brought a new pair of 8  / 14 inc set of borbet wheels and gone for the streched tyre look to then perchaced a new pair of coilover and the biggest diffrence is the car itself   the advantage of me being a painter is that striped it down to bare shell welded new filer panel in couple of patches in door and the rear arches were getting a lil scabby so what have done is cut away the inner lip of arches and seem welded iner arch up and welded a new arch onto the existing arch giving it a 1 1/2 widder booth sides its a verry suttle diffrence but i think its well worth it will try and get some pic on tomoro and would love to hear ur opinoins thanks  :P

finaly got some pics

hear are two pics of the car when strarted the work iv repaired all dent and striped bk the inner arch and got it up on axle stands

after these pic the folowing work has been carried out the arches have been banded front and back i brought 2 new genuine wings and 4 arch repair panels and a filer repair panel and on front cut outer arch lip away and welded a back arch onto the front to give it a wider stance and done the same on the back with moderfieing the inner arch to then welded and seam sealered all up and stone chiped inner wings and arches and gonna paint them up also put my coilovers on and lowerd some but with the arch like they are it looks lower than is and keep the hight to cover the big speed bumps  also took bumpers of till can find a pair of metal one and done all welding to then primed the arches flated them all sorted out the pin holes and reprimered the whole vehicle inside doors and shuts to  now car in grey i think i looks quite nice so thinking in keeping it this colour but flatting primer and reprimering and satin laquering the whole lot leaving the front bk and sills stone chip black to be diffrent all would like to hear ur veiws on this

this was the shot that made me consider of keeping it grey what do u all think and hear is a better pick of the arch i think its a suttle but it make the car look fatter without loseing any char and realy like to know what u think

and can see my wheels hope to get sum more pics soon when done some more work and realy would like to no what think on colour cuz not far from the painting stage thanks :P and what u think of keeping the stone chip areas just stone chip black with satin laquer over top

Nice work on the arches, it works, really subtle but nice fat stance now. Not sure about keeping the stonechip/grey look!

I'm loving that mate, the arches look awesome on it and  the stance is great, shame your not staying in primer grey, that would have looked so so sweet..
