My Mk1 Project :)
I live in South Africa and have a 1992 citi golf. Currently a 1.3l 4-speed manual, i have a 1.8 waiting for me.
Unfortunately in SA, its very hard to find a 2door mk1, so im going to take my 4door and make it into a sort of GTi. Might not be a real GTi, but it's the best i can do with what i got .
I will be doing most of the work over December and the months after. Just trying to get most of the parts together, and then will do it bit-by-bit. i will take some photos of the car in the next few days to show you guys how it looks at the moment.
this is very similar to what my car looks like at the moment:
i do have a question though. I want to remove the current bumpers, and put the oldschool black bumpers on. heres the question: is there any difference in the front fenders from the original to the current citi golf?
i want it to look close to the original GTi, so would i be able to get replacement fenders for the old Mk1 GTi, and fit them on my car without any fitment issues? (gaps between panels, etc.)
thanks for the help in advance guys
