My Mk1 Golf GLi Cabby Project

Now before you all start getting excited I haven't started it yet. I have 2 months of tax left on the car, conveniently sees me through til the end of summer    then it will be time to take off the road and get cracking on the old girl (or boy I haven't checked yet   )

My list of to do's (have a browse and let me know what you think to the idea's)

* Get the car running right (will start on this friday)
* Oil service (again this friday)
* Very wash and polish (friday   )
* Take off the Team Dynamics alloys (will be going up for sale so if anyones interested let me know) and refit the Tarantula's
* Enjoy til tax runs out (ongoing :) )

Take off the road for winter

* Engine out and full rebuild
* Everything stripped for full respray (sticking with the colour)
* Complete refresh of bushes, lines etc etc
* Nice sports exhaust for a subtle tone (not too much though)
* Decent stereo and speakers (no subs or fancy install, been there done that)
* Replace interior as my is worn from years of use
* Complete new hood (head liner and stuff) frame looks to be ok but we will see
* Nice alarm with all the bells and whistles (recommendations please  :dontknow:  )
* Smoked headlights, indicators and rear lights
* Get some AEZ cups rims or similar (these seem to have taken my fancy)
* Finally (for now) wrap the bumpers, spats, chin spoiler, number plate holder and mirrors in genuine carbon fibre

Will add/update as and when I get things done or find more things to do. Unfortunately time is a bit of an issue as I work away alot so this may take a while  :(

Here is the starting point

That's a good looking car already! I like the colour.

Make sure that you take loads of pictures as you go because you'll look at them on and off over the years if you keep it.

I know what you mean Dano, I had a 3 series BMW that I spent extensive money on over the years, I look at the pics now and still amazed how good it looked when I had finished.

I'm finalising the traders list for the AGM at the moment, we have a few more than last year if everyone turns up!!!

One of the traders (waterworx) will be doing a vinyl wrapping service if all goes well.
