project fallen behind

now its been some time since i posted on here , and altho i have done some small jobs on the car its still an unfinished project :(

http://vwgolfmk1.org.uk/forum/index.php?page=topicview&id=your-mk1-golfs_2%2Fefi-16v-mk1-project

thats the link to my first thread when i was full of enthusiasm and had pleanty of spare time .

so like i say i have done a few more bits like the rear brakes and fuel cap lol but not much in 4 years :(

so its not time to get her on the move again , recently with the closure of didcot power station i have many mates starting up new work ventures
one of which is a garage/workshop , i am well happy with his work so decided to get him to quote me up for finishing the golf , i got mates rates and he wants to use the car on his web site sort of before and after to show off what he can do , so hes chucking in a good buff too :) but the bonnet is well past buffing , lacker has come off need a respray if any one knows of a good sprayer in the oxford area ? ( helios blue )

i think the engine it self will take a day or two just to get running after putting all the plugs on the ecu loom , then theres lots of other bits i want like alarm , remote start , dash , fuse box , seats and a few more

he will have a rolling road in a few weeks too to tune it up :)

so fingers crossed i will be updating this with some progress soon

with a wash the bonnet is in serious need of a respray , but most of the other body work is good :)

wires finally plugged up and attached , well most of them

IAT sensor has a neat little home

not too sure if the video will work but this is the boys getting her running . theres not tuning done yet on the megasquirt its just a very basic map he made in the shop , and the lambda is not reading but soon will be . wont be long before he has a rolling road in the shop the golf will one on the first on it :)<iframe src="Facebook" width="226" height="400" frameborder="0"></iframe>

not too sure if i can put this in so edit out if not , but heres a link to there facebook page , other cars in the shop at the mo are a s15 drift car , megan rb26 , locost kit car and subaru

its a smallish shop with big plans located not to far from oxford

Nice car mate. Conversion looks spot on. Get out there and give her a good thrashing once she's been on the rolling road ;)

Well she's back home and mot'd , not been on the rolling road as yet but running quite well .

How ever :( I can take her out for a nice run and when hot if I stop won't restart until cool ?!

I'm looking in to the battery as it stalls when trying to turn over like if the batt was flat , but over night even ice cold will start no issue ? Confused

Any ideas in to what to look at ?

Still got issues with hot start ? It's almost like fluid lock in the bores ?

But when she's hot it's fun
