my mk1 1.6 gtd
soo i swaped my polo van
it was a bit of a gamble
basicly the golf was up for sale on edition with the head gasket blown
so a trip to leicester in a transit flat bed with the van on the back took place
and heres the golf
its a 1983 mk1 golf with 86000on the clocks and a 1.6 gtd lump with uprated turbo
so far it has full gti spec brakes
gti intirior
front and rear strutbraces
k&n airfilter
2.5" straightrough stainless exhaust
coilovers of some form
i think i did verry well for a straight swap
plans are.
manul boost controller
fmic
stainless boost tubing and samco hoses
a few small pump mods
standard grill
black side trims
a new front bumper as the dude decided to screw the plate to it :glare:
and posably some 15s I'm not to sure yet as i love the look on 13s
turns out the reason it was over heating was a core plug had blown and there was a major leak in the rad and the rad wasnt even wired in .
and the white smoke and genaral crap running of the car was due to the fule pump timing being well out

Haha just read your biuld thread .looks good dude .hope I have better luck than you tho.
I went to the scrap yard today and picked up some tubing for
The intake .
Also fitted a boost gauge and a get gauge all ready for some tuning .
Went to fit my boost controller but failed as I couldn't find the hose going from the turbo to the wastegate :s .
I'll upload some pics once the missus is off the laptop
edit:
todays progress
