My Gti

Righty people, here's a few pics of the last week working on my Golf Gti.  Im aware its far from gti spec as it was when i bought it, but i wanted a solid base for a small project so thought this perfect, and am used to people saying its a ruined Gti….but its my car built how i like and thats what this is all about in my eyes.
I bought it in the existing colour but it had ronal turbos fitted, along with bucket seats and a show cage which i was content with for all of a week, along with the awful orange mirrors/side trims.  Unfortunatly all the pictures of the car at this stage were lost along with my old phone.

This is the past week and a bits progress, lucky to have a week of work that was mainly sunny.
Riding on 13" polo steelies, nasty.

The ronals made way for a set of G60's that i had blasted, then spent hours priming and prepping for the Lada Cream paint.  I used Polo G40 centres, but had to fibreglass the 4 clips to mount onto the wheel nuts, not easy to find 16 of those down the scrappy these days, happy with the results though

Had the tyres from the ronals fitted to these, 165/50/15 as a trial as was unsure howd they look, but glad i did, got the car to this stage

Unfortunatly although most of the bodywork was very good, things like the bumpers had suffered and were removed, along the the tinted rear lights and front indicators.  The replacements for all of these parts were donated from the 2 mk1's my local breakers has in stock, the genuine front bumper, wing mirrors, lower sill trims, golf ball gear knob, rear lights and indicators costing the grand total of £50, all just needed a proper cleaning and sprucing up before fitting.  The rear bumpers is a pattern part i got from ulimate dubs, which is something i thought i didnt want, but being so impressed with he quality i bought it and lugged it around for the whole show.  I painted the side trims in cream to match the wheels also, along with the sill trims also, although not shown here, bloody rain.

Thats it so far, ill get some piccies of the interior as it is now, along with all the future plans i have for the car, all comments welcome whether they be good or bad.

I Know mate, I asked them to put them on the inside and when I picked them up they'd done that, wasn't atall happy, and they scratched the paint too so got money off, so I'm going to paint the weights for now, just want to drive the thing at the mo lol. Thanks for the comments guys, hope to meet a few of you at a show or 2.

I love white MK1's, but yours does look mint! I did wonder about powder blue or a similar colour when i had a choice.
The wheels are a good choice and the height is spot on!
