Imagine if it is just a normal mk1 now the disappointment.  But all mk1's are loved on here.

on the log book it says gti special ???
its only 2 owners and 97k miles,totally mint interior as new,it has red type plastic arches ( like extensions kinda square looking) it has a bbs front splitter fitted not my cup of tea but its there,twin headlights in grill,has an onboard computer thingy,anyway will get the pics up tomorrow and yous can tell me whats what.
no matter what model it ends up to be i love it and will be keeping it as i have always wanted a mk1 gti in mars red!!!

sorry i'm not that clued up more into my aircooled stuff have a 1960 splitty slammed rat panel as a daily but that will change once i have the mk1 on the road..

golf sounds cool… with square arches it sounds like it may have a full bbs bodykit, not just the front spoiler?

The big giveaway if its a Pirelli edition, will be if its personally imported (look at your V5, it will tell you on there if it was first registered overseas, or something); because the Pirelli edition was never available in the UK. There's 2 variations, one has body coloured arch trims and bumpers. The other is similar to a campaign, ie a bunch of little extras, none of which are unique in themselves but together were offered as a "special sales campaign" to help sell off the last few Mk1 GTIs.

thanks for all the info guys you all certainly know your stuff,i have just checked the log book and there is nothing that says it has been overseas!

i have full history with it and has only 2 previous owners so going to contact them for some info,on the log book it says gti special 5s!!

also full history from new and all services are there so must have been in this country all the time..

so is it a campaign???
