My first ever mk1 project :P

Hello guys, I'm about to buy a 1984 1.6 TD Rabbit and it's going to be my first ever car project in fact! The car doesn't seem in a terrible shape (Well I think…). This car is going to be my daily driver until summer comes and then I'll be able to have a little fun with it. The car won't be at my home until April (That sucks…)

just bought a deisel myself so a turbo diesel sounds like alot of fun

Well the plan is quite simple, I want to keep the original interior (Clean it and change parts if necessary but all OEM), stay with a Diesel, but maybe swap it for something more recent (A 1.9L maybe? and chip it), some nice steelies with slim tires, new paint(cream-white) and make it rub the floor with some damn coilovers(H&R ultra-low coil-overs) In first place I'll to check all over the car for hidden rust and treat and/or change rusted/rotten parts, check all the mechanical structure to see if there's not to many problems and fix them. When the mechanic is done, I'll start the dubbing process  :twisted:

NB: Yeah, there's AC! The console is also missing, I'll have to find one… That sucks to

I have a simple question for you guys, how do we treat rust? I must not be a very complex job....(I hope )

Is it a Factory original TD

The engine is original, but a couple of parts have been changed over the years. Brakes, suspension, oil pump, etc... The original interior is still there (Not in the car though...) except for the shifter rod.

RADICAL CHANGES FOR MY PROJECT!! I finally bought a 1988 cabby It is so sweet! Just have to fix a little problem with the cooling system and it's up for a run! Can't wait to roll it! Pictures will follow tomorrow probably!
