My First Car
Picked it up today. Looks in good condition, plenty of spares, runs well, just waiting for insurance to come through so I can get on the road. Here are some pics…

Yea, Just realised how big they are. Looked a normal size on the computer and image shack!
Its a 1.8, runs smooth. Created a bit of a to do list!
it includes,

locks
electronic display
rust!

Already got it insured. I am 21 so not much of a problem. Just waiting for insurance docs to come through so I can get some road tax.
Playing with the locks this morning, I'll let you know how I get on!

Had the car for nearly 4 months, had some trials and tribulations.
Done quite a bit of work, had a full oil service and change, changed the air filter, fuel filter and anti freeze when I was on with it, played with ignition timings as well to get it to idle a bit smoother.
We blew a fuel relay on the way to work and had to get a new one.
Also hit a rabbit and lost half my front spoiler which was unrepairable, so had to invest in an ebay special which is pretty far from perfect.
Other than that, all going well!
ps… does anybody know what the little twisty thingy which you can set at 1, or 2 does in among my dials, you can just see it on one of the pictures above? Can't for the life of me figure it out???

Glad the car's coming along well. As for your knob query () :
It's to switch between the two trip modes your MFA provides (if it's working that is). 1- Journey stage (to record figures for the journey you're on) and 2 - Total journey memory (to record overall figures).
Much more detailed stuff in this previous post : http://www.vwgolfmk1.org.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=54441&highlight=mfa
