My clipper Carmen with new shoes!

This is my NEW car, well sunny day dar I have a daily run around.

She has just done 77k so not too high. The things I want to do is.

Get a couple of body bits sorted just a bit if surface rust on the front wing and bumper needs re doing.

sort the wheels out missing the centre caps I think, not sure what they are meant to look like,

change the carpet

sort her mechanically, not that there is really any serios problems

oh and next summer, when i have save get the interior changed for cream leather with balck piping all being well.

so here she is










whoops sorry not very good at posting pics. Re the wheels does any one have a pic of what they should look like? Are they the original ones? if so has anyone got any centre caps? tha fit? i wnat to keep her as standard as possible bar the interior lol. Going to the body shop today!! I hate dirty wheels help!!!!

she has a new roof so thats one less thing to worry about!

What are the wheels been told they aint original, and look crap at the mo.

she is off to the garage for a serious engine overhaul, she needs new seals etc and a head polish, smoking a bit when accelerating etc, and a new water pump, and a timing belt head gasket etc etc...

How much of an overhaul you having done to the engine?

Wont she last the summer and do the engine when the sun goes in?  :mrgreen:

well its only taking about 5 days so its not long, after the summer off come all  the panels and 6-8 weeks being slowly repainted etc…

im just fussy thats all, want her running her best, and besides my mates are fed up of being smoked out lol

oh in answer to the question im having…

The head redone,

new seals and piston rings….

Cam shaft bit recleaned

the piston bits out

all the engine bit cleaned and pollished

new gaskets

new water pump

new starter motor

and new filters oil etc.

is a few hundred quid

oh a a new timing belt.

Those wheels look like they are off a BMW, the centre caps are simmilar to BBS RM ones, but they vary in diameter so are not interchangeable


they look pretty beat up to be fair, i would get a set of BB RA`s for it, they look nice on the later cabs, and if you like the black centres? get some sportline ones (if you can find some) or have the silver ones painted

wheels are going mate… found some brand new Castlettes (spelling) off a Rivage, still in the box so they will look nice! I hope with some pirelli p5000/6000 on them!

just gotta find centre caps!

i called the mechanic (knowing damn well it she wouldnt be fixed yet)

All looks good apparently, piston seals all good apparently the valve syem seals need changing?

so all being well get her back on tuesday, fit the new wheels and tyres! wooo

wheels gone to have tyres fitted today…. getting pirreli p6000's ?50 each fitted balanced and with caps.

Got some new lights today, also…. not sure if i like them now though!!!



centre caps on the way from usa, and new single light chrome edged grille coming too!

carmen came back from the garage today, and i must admit she drives like a new car now!

She has her new shoes on, just waiting for the centre caps to come from the states, i've took off her grille, touch wood new one will be here tommorrow, so i can fit that.

the cracked number plate plinth I have tried to use fibre glass to patch back together, so far so good.

looks alot better, when the caps come i;ll be happy, oh and getting her imobilzer ripped out is the first thing to be sorted!!

wheels look so much better. That fuel cap is getting replaced at the same time as the fuel filler neck!

ignore the scuff on the wheel arch that will be gone in about 3 months when she is in the body shop!

centre cpas found by vw last 4 in the uk!

windschott arrived, just waiting now for the fuel cap, fuel surround sticker and a scuttle tray.

next job cleaan engine!

Looking sweet, are you putting one of those chrome filler caps on? I'm tempted by them - not sure if it would suit my car too well though :s

chrome cap and trims can be got from trimsport

does make a difference when its fully chromed up
