my cabby project finally finished
hi everyone, as a few of you will know by now i have been restoring a cabby, as i have bombarded the help section virtually daily, lol which by the way i wouldn not have been able to do without the help from a selection of you guys, so thanks alot.
anyway she started life as a red 1.5, as you can see in the pic, she needed quite a bit of work doing
so i set about it, thinking along the way that i wanted something different, so i smoothed the clipper arches and sideskirts in
obviously completely stripped out now, she had a brilliant shell on her for saying shes around 28 years old, all i had to to was try and level the panels up a bit etc and take the odd dent out and then get her ready for priming
then i flatted her down and got her ready for the top coat
now unfortunatly i got a bit carried away building her up and forgot to take many photos through the stages of being rebuilt, but got one of her as i had just put the new roof on before i cut the rear window
then i set about getting my brand new engine made, i kept her as the 1.5 andhad new EVERYTHING, im talking oversized pistons, crank shaft, cam, head, bearings, electronic ignition, sump, pumps, alternator. basically you name it i bought it, cost me a right ticket
then got the engine in and running perfectly, she runs so nice now after the initial teething problems, such a pleasure to drive
(oh and a new rad is next on the cards by the way lol)
and this is her done, and i love her, think she looks beautiful
thanks for looking guys, sorry bout the walk through if you got bored, and comments welcome people
and again thanks alot for the brilliant help along the way
