My cabby 1.8

This is my cabby, i have never owned a mk1 before had a mk2 for a while a few years back but never got the chance to tinker with it.

I bought the car pretty much as it is only thing that was letting it down in my opinion was the engine bay im by no means a mechanic or a spray painter but I set about cleaning up the engine and bay to the best of my abilities.

The car had a slight water leak from one of the hoses so I had to replace that anyways so I decided to take most of the other hoses while i was there and give it a good degreasing ect.  I also removed the fan and housing gave them a good clean and paint done other parts too.

The drivers side bay was pretty easy to prep and paint as theres not much in there and was just a case of removing the surface rust. I found the battery side a little more difficult with all the nooks and crannies.

I really wished I had took a picture of the engine before I started the work but I never had a camera to hand at the time.

That's pretty cool mate what paint did you use on the rocker cover and fan housing?  Your right keeping the engine clean is a nightmare infect the whole car is a nightmare see every bit of dirt on the White or I could jus be a bit OCD!
