My Build Thread - Mk1 1.8 8v auto Clipper Cabrio

Howdo people, i thought i'd add my build thread as after a week owning my cabrio i've had the head off twice and now the engines coming out for a new one (cheers again funk-star   )

so this is what i had…….









……ended up swapping it after 3 1/2 years and ?4,500 of hard graft for this……ta daaaaa……

Then my head gasket went so i started to sort that out and then my boss blew it up after i had it running for literally 5 mins  :dontknow:

then a head bolt ripped all the thread out of the block half way through the tightening process  8O so now i'm doing this…….

……i started to take things off and put them in a box…oooooooo……


…..then got to this point……






……and the head is here   ……..


Plans for tomoz…….take this out to get replaced……

i have a full head gasket set that i no longer need if you want it?

such a shame iv just weighed in 2 1.8 gti engines and gear boxs one out of a mk2 that i stripped and the other out of my old mk1

the mk2 was seized but i managed to un seize it and was guna put it in the golf i have now but as iv just been banned couldnt insure it.

lol gutted as i'm actually only after a gearbox to convert it to manual
