That looks like a beaut' - liking the oil burner.  Planning a GTD or AAZ 1.9 in my van later in the summer once I find a doner engine with less that 120K on it.

Be good to see at billing - will be on the lookout for it

Don't you know anyone with a makro card or any other big cash and carry? makro sell 20l veg oil ?18.75 and 0% vat on it.

That car is gorgeous! Look forward to seeing it at the club show. We should have a Derv section…yours and Bert's at the front of course  :wink: There's quite a few of us these days - originals and TD's.

Volkswarren , my dad's got a makro card so i'll look into that one cheers

Carniemk1 , the first two hoses from the turbo are original and the rest i just hunted round the scrap yard for them

in need of some help...

just got an unfinished project car, its a mk1 caddy pickup. there is a half done gtd conversion. just woundering how u got the exhaust to get under the bulk head and what size pipe you are using, also another problem is i still have the 4speed gearlinkage in the cab of the pick up, got a 5 speed linkage but i dont no also if this is all i need.. any help would be awsome. thanks alot.

Nice job mate, very clean.

Looks like you've done some work to the LDA pin - any other pump mods?

I'd have kept the 1.6 myself,  I'm building a 150 brake mk1 TD.

How did you get the motor and pump so clean?

Made downpipe yesterday 2.5 " bore, just need to buy rest of system.Not taken many pictures of the engine change but to clean block ,pump and most other parts was buy a cheap shot blast gun tape up ports and outlets and blast away

really like your mk1 gtd looks the biz  8),i'd a mk1 gtd lhd from germany a few years ago,great cars, ive a mk3 1996 estate 1.9 td aaz with low miles it's a great bus too
