MK1 Sportline Roof Advice

Post

I've recently bought a Sportline after over 10 years away from MK1's due to family life and I'm in the process of putting back to standard. The BBS's have gone to be powder coated and diamond finished but I wonder if anyone can put me in touch with someone who will supply and for a new mohair hood for me? at my home in Doncaster.

Hi Andy

great choice even if i am a little biased ;-).

I also want to get the orignal RA's refubed with a diamond cut lip eventually.

Not sure if they are paid advetisers on forum anymore as we did have a few problems, but i know a few people used Northern Car hoods mobile fitting service and got new roof done at thier home.

Also give Chortle on here a shout, he provides the intermidiary pads that sit between the headlining and outer skin of roof, and i put one on mine when i did roof (you can see pics in sportline link below) its worth putting a new one in whilst roof is off.

If you also search for mohair roof / cabriolet room some threads for people that have used other roof companies should come up

Any pics of the sportline?

Have you registered it on Hugh's fantastic sportline register www.golfgtisportline.com

Cheers

Rich

Thanks for that Rich,

I haven't got any pics yet as I wanted to get it sorted first. I had been looking for a while but the wait was worth it. Mine is a 93 L reg, it's got 102k on it all the receipts for the last 15 years and MoT certs. It's all original panels and never been painted but it has 2 little bubbles under the screen I want to sort.
Hopefully in the next 2 weeks it will be sorted and I'll get some pics up then.
