mk1 gti cab 87

just joined up and thought id get some pics and progress up of my golf, im new to this so hopefully my project will turn out good. got the cab 1 year ago and started stripping it this summer, wanted to do the lot myself but realised it was to much for me, especially as i dont have a garage. its gone to a body shop for body work and spraying, then going to get a new mohair hood! :lol:
plans to give engine some tlc and paint then maybe tackle interior.

im also kak with computers so if someone could give tips on getting pics from camera up would be appreciated.

help! and been a long time

hi been a long time since a post actualy since my first, still cant get images up, tried getting 1 from facebook unsucesfully.
well my car has had body work done like, new wings, new/ second hand sill. bits of patchwork and sprayed in the original colour.

and had a new mohair hood!

just been buying things for my engine like clutch, belts, gaskets and other bits.

I DESPERATELY NEED HELP! can people please give any tips on cleaning up engine and intake manifold, gearboxes for painting. I also would like to clean up the inside of my intake manifold for example.

I'm very keen but lacking knowledge.

please help

here it is before the strip! decision was made to pull it apart.

i miss the days off actually driving it.  :(

skip quite alot of days and pictures i have either lost or didn't take of me stripping the interior and panels. finding rust and rubbing down and then decided to take it to a pro, best idea i've ever had.
apart from these few.

so at the body shop i got them to put the new wings on and bottom of the front(cant remember whats thats called) and they found drivers side sill was seriously rot, rusted, and bodged and not a cab sill! :x
well they got on with soughting these bits out when i sourced a sill from crazyquiffs.

heres some pics of my slow progress, but atleast its progress. been buying bits like seals, dizzy cap rotary arm, radiator, clutch, pads etc etc.

been a learning curve painting the engine, rust dissolver= good. vht products good eastwood good stuff and a shed load of patience.
