a quick update on my project. I have stripped the block and i have to get it of to be cleaned...i have bought arp rod bolts...so the will be going on with some new shells, does not really need it as its only done 17000 miles or so...but want to do things properly... ecu, loom, pedal, canbus box, and fuel pump all here also. changing the water pump and will be putting back together in the next couple of weeks. i am excited i have taken pics of the block and turbo etc etc i will be uploading them soon, i have been concentrating of meeting targets i set myself so i apologise for no pics at the mo but i really have to crack on cause this is new to me.

Hi to all the mk1 owners I have been away from this site not very good at posting things up because of work and other things that seem to keep me so busy but the project has been a full on Its taken me a while to get all my bits due to fact I bought nothing from the uk..all from the usa or canada and even the tuning software comes from overseas courtesy of unitronic chipped. I have pics of the engine build so far. gonna figure out how to post them up. But I have fully stripped the blocked had it cleaned. all new parts from vw for the rebuild.
Integrated engineering rods ( all balanced )
race bearings
modified cams
apr hpfp fuel pump
arp head and main bolts
and various other bits I found while on my build journey. I will be documenting as i go along just in case anyone wants to build a tfsi in their car.
Next on the list a hydrulic clutch conversion for the mk1 and get the car off to the body shop. I will try and update you and add some pics like I mentioned.

wicked...its alot easier with that engine, due to the fact the internals are stronger...and you dont really need to go crazy with the tuning soft ware

Watching this
I'm starting my mk1 project this year and still trying to make my mind up on which engine to go for.
At the minute I have a clean painted shell - just need to make my mind up on which way it's going then get cracked on with it.
Any info you can share on what's required, or share your research to date on putting this in the mk1 would be appreciated.
Thanks on advance.
