\'Check Your Nuts!\'  My partner has just been through an operation and chemotherapy for Testicular Cancer and is only 29. He had no lump or pain, just became swollen… If in doubt, get to the doctor!

Thanks pal really nice to hear some apparition :) i haven't really got any plans for the outside just everything around it lol new engine and box, seats, head liner, alloy show cage, window tint. 2 of the arches have bubbling which are going to be sorted and sprayed this week hopefully and the seals are in a bit of a mess from some nasty person with a jack  :banghead: will put some progress pictures up when i get to do some work

i think you should go for 1.4 16v AFH from a polo 100hp
maybe bike carbs

its looking nice! :D

what are you doing with the old seats once replaced?

Is that a straight swap on the same mounts and gearbox matching up? They will be going Mate hopefully going to get some seats thursday night :) are you interested in the seats?

i think you need to buy or make a plate to join the mk1 golf engine mount to the afh block, im not 100% sure

im not sure about the gear box mount either

yeh would be interested in the seats, i like the worn look!
have you got any more pics?
where are you based?

Yeah, the AFH block only has 2 holes for the front o/s mount but the mount needs three, easiest way around it is to make a plate that extends from the mount to some spare holes at the bottom of the block. Have a look on Clubpolo, there's loads of people putting them in early polos at the moment and since you've got the small block it's basically the same.

Also Zeus on here is doing the 1.3 GT swap at the moment, have a read here

Car looks stunning man  8)

Red mk1s all the way! Really like this mate :)
I think you should go for a polo gt conversion with a 4 branch manifold and the 8k chip it will be rather nippy :D. Theres quite a bit of info in the modifications and conversiosn section. Been thinking about doing it myself :)

Forget Polo GT engines, you want an ABD 1.4 mk3 Golf engine! 8)  8)  8)

Polo GT engines are well overpriced and expensive to buy stuff for. ABDs are ten a penny and a straight swap into the mk1, no messing about! And you'll sail past a GT engine with the right method of fuelling  They are very strong engines just like the GT.

I've had a polo GT engine and an ABD in my mk1 before, and the ABD was MILES faster. Just make sure you put a polo GT camshaft in there with it as the standard ABD cam is very mild. They are interchangeable :)

You could either use polo GT injection or bike carbs to fuel it, I'd vote bike carbs as thats what I use and you just can't beat the noise, throttle response, simplicity and fun they give 8)

been doing a lot of reading lately which im not to good at but been giving my best shot lol this 1.4 16v(AFH) conversion is really getting to me ive really got my heart set on this conversion. soo heres the worry the amount of different parts i need im planning to run bike carbs to get rid off a bulk of the wiring as that is really not my part as im rubbish at electrics, then there is people saying i need to use a different ignition system i.e mk2 polo what is the reason for this? im a bit puzzled about gearbox at the moment too i have read about people saying that they have cut and joint to mounts and overs saying easy swap? would love to know if anyone could help me a bit better than just reading words of mouth. any help i would love to hear thanks Linden

Yea no worries mate lol will when I get back from spray shop it's just having arches and sills sorted from some Pratt getting a bit happy with the jak lol but If remember when I had my caddy on 13s it was a night mare on hitting sump all the time cause it was a big block but then when I put 15s on it I took it as hard as I could down some back roads an no probs lol. will just say tho the golf came from the city and from looking under it there's been a lot of scrubage and a bent engine mount
