mk1 golf 5 dr project , retford , notts! stonechipped.

hi guys. after looking round for ages trying to find a cheap mk1 i finally found 1 in tamworth. i was prepared to get something that needed quite a bit of work but when i got there to look at the car i was in for a pleasant suprise. after a quick look round the car (on a rainy day!) i got it for the bargain price of 400 quid! i picked it up on sunday and after a 150 mile round trip it was finally home with me!














 the body work on the car is spot on but the paint work is far from perfect. on closer inspection there are lots of runs and orange peel along with a few blebs where the paint has been prep'd poorly. i got my mate mat round for a few hours today and we got to work stripping the car













the car is 100% solid due to being waxoyled every year since new. the only nasty i found was a very poor weld repair



this will be sorted and then the car is ready to start rubbing down and prep'd for a full respray. obviously the windows and handles and other bits need taking off and the engine removing but it will hope fully be done within the week!





got a few ideas as to what im gonna do to it so keep ya eyes peeled. thanks for looking people!

i ant seen many about 4 a while. loads of mk 2's tho! im not 100% yet on plans but im wantin to go euro ish with a roof rack and possibly a g40 conversion? got coilovers on the way and trying to decide on colour. thinkin pale yellow but not sure yet!!
