Surely if you're looking to sell, you have a good idea of how much its worth to you? For example, if I were to say its only worth ?400, would you sell it at ?400?
Unfortunately its very difficult to value a modified car, basically what you need to do is know the equivalent value of a standard car and see how well/badly the mods have been done, to adjust the price accordingly.
Why has all the work been done but the car not used on the road??? Just doesn't add up to me…….

tbh ive lost interest, got bike license and moved in with GF now so car is sat on drive as i have different prioritys now on weekends and cant go to show
bought a sensible GT TDI instead so basically thats the story
i know what i have spent but as ive been out of scene for so long not sure what mk1 are bringing atm
i was thinking between 2.5k and 3k would be reasonable but i could be way out

Does it have MoT? If so, then you are possibly in the right ball park there. If not, then it would definitely be worth putting it through the MoT, since this really does have a huge effect on potential buyers - and the value.

it would have 12 months MOT as it passed about 6 months ago with not one fault and has been sat since in my garage

the mods are worth as much as the car is..

that cant be 180bhp. my uncle had the same engine in his mk1 fully rebuilt on twin 40's supersprint 4 branch manifold stuff like that on it and that was 160bhp

If someone's claiming 180bhp from a 1.8 16V, I'd be asking for a rolling road printout or 1/4 mile times to back it up. Otherwise assume 139bhp.

to be fair, a standard kr lump with 4 branch, decent exhaust system and air filter, healthy and properly set up will give up to 155 on rollers (depending on whose) but 180 with standard cams is highly unlikely.

Only my tuppenny worth, but I can only scrape 163.5 at RR and that is with 45's, Piper Ultimate Cams,TSR 'A' Cylinder head and 4-1 TSR Manifold :dontknow:
Speeding is like masturbation, everyone does it ,but it's not something you should record and put on the internet!!

4branch ashley +@10 hp max
45's=10-15hp
probs around 210 forum horse power but really @ 165 max horse,my car got rollin roaded at 174 with AMD high torque cams,AMD ported head and inlets, balanced bottom end and before 4branch and 2.5 system

as an aside its a cleanish straight but obv.resprayed mk1 with a transplant. That exhaust is frankly ridiculous and the swap looks like its in need of a tidy up but with the stupid prices mk1s are going for id hunt people down that offered me 400 quid just to laugh/slap their face
its a solid painted shell
its got a carbed up 16v
wtf arent you razzing about in it???????????????

my opinion on the exhaust is the same but it had big bumpers so the dtm just touched outside with them, i thought they looked wrong so replaced with small bumper and as i have lost interest i see no need to custom anymore when the owner might have different taste
i have a RR printout of 155bhp at the wheels which equates the about 180bhp at the fly
the head has been P&P
