mk1 - full rebuild

Well think I have undertaken a huge project with this mk1, I won it on ebay for a bargin price. downside it is pretty much a bare shell, so will need lots of bits, i'll gladly take any freebies  

Plan is just to get it back on the road first for as cheap as possible.

removed the sound deadening - was a v. wet. was expecting it to be  worse.


Old engine removed - well it was only bottom end and gearbox

8O … looking forward to seeing this one progress mate   … I'd love to do a bare shell restore too… maybe in a few years… keep us posted mate as I'm interested in this one…  what you sticking up front in it?

Yeah will be a lot of work. just building a 2ltr 8v for my mk2. so thinking about putting the 1.8 from that with a crosflow head and the set of twin dellorto 40's I already have.

Should look and sound sweet. but all unknown territory for me. but plenty of helpful people out there with the knowledge i'm sure i'll get it sorted.

Well progress is real slow with trying to sort out my mk2 and another car on my drive (french crap).

ahhh, the dream of doing a bare shell resto.

in case you didn't know, mk2 sliding sunroof's are the same as mk1's.
