Mk1 Clipper Restoration, Back from paint !!!!!

I bought this, my first Mk1 last year for £200 from a picture i saw on Facebook.  I was just going to get it running and have it for a bit of fun but the bug has well and truly bitten and i am now undertaking a complete overhaul of the car ready for this summer.  Work to be done

Complete engine and windows out respray
Rebuild the original engine as its only done 89000
New Weber carb
New clutch, cam belt and water pump
Head skimmed with new valves and tappets
New wheels and coilovers

Here are a few pictures so far

Yes trying to keep it as close to original as possible, its not that i dont like the modified ones i just prefer the way they started out.  The coilovers are the only real change that and front top and bottom strut braces.

Engine and gearbox back in all the timing done, eventually got it to start.  There was a problem with the cam shaft sprocket having the timing mark in the wrong place so took a bit longer but all sorted now.  Just need to finish the interior ff and i cant wait to have a drive.

Thanks for your comments, cannot wait to get it MOTed.  Hopefully Saturday, just waiting for some last clips for the interior and the pressed metal number plates and it should be ready.  The coilovers i got are Jamex ones which were pretty cheap they were 199 on Ebay. Not sure how good they are yet as i havent driven the car yet but since i stripped it i have also replaced the top mounts and fitted top and bottom strut braces to so i think it may drive a bit different to last year.
