mk1 caddy- project "rustowagen"

hey guys, hope its ok to start a thread for my caddy. just a bit of back ground info, im 17 and this is my second caddy project. im a pinstriper and do bits of signwriting and give most custom bits a good go.    been doing this project for a coupl of months now and its been going fairly well. some of you may have seen my build threads on edition or the caddy forum.

anyways this is a low budget build (well probaly wont end up being lets face it lol) got the caddy for ?300 off my dad and have only spent about that again on it so far. will put most of the main piks up then carry on from there with my updates. hope you enjoy guys all comments welcome

Nice work Curtis!  8) What colour you going for? I'm guessing blue due to the pin stripe on the wheels!

Is the other caddy yours too?

Cheers
Andy

PS - like the sign writing!

cheers dude, not sure on the text atm will do another couple i think just to have some to choose from. yup hopefuly going for a dark satin blue but i mite go for a gloss finish not 100% on this yet. what are peeps opinions?

yup the grey caddy is my daily atm, this one will take over the role as a daily once its finished so i can make they grey one to a show standard. so hopefuly by then end of it all ile have 2 spot on caddys to play with.

got a fiar bit done today. got some piks but they arent overly exiting so will wait to post them once i have progressed a little. we managed to get the indscreen out with no brake's or cracks! got the pass side sill and pillars back to bare metal ready for some etch primer and primer. the bonnets off and me and dad stared descussing the ideas for the bay so we both no whats going on with it. hopefuly picking up my carbs in the week

bodywrk wise im slowly cracking on, nearly run out of filler again so need to get some more lol the low spots are final filling in after a few skims so should be fairly striaght once its all done.
dads gonna get cracking on the engine and take the box off and all the other bits and bobs so i can strip all the gunk off and paint it all up so its nice and tidy  8)

sorry for all the wiriting and no piks chaps, will get some up during the week  8)

Satin Blue could work! Most matt/satin cars I see are painted black or grey so would be different

got a fair bit of work done over the week end, may not look like much but its a big step forward. managed to get the screen out with out braking it which is a bonus lol dad has now entered the build so the father son team is back in action and cracking on once again. dad started to get the engine bay ready for a slight bit of smoothing and a good clean, all the loom is removed. engine is going to have a test fir with the carbs over the week end :D

anyway heres some piks from the last few days

found a couple of small holes in the bottom of the screen sill

also stripped the inside out, removed all the junk that was init already for the doors to be musked up :thumbs_up

then just the usual filler piks lol

also couldnt resist trying the wellers on my grey caddy as this one is lowered but i only took one pik but you get the idea :D

dad also got the passenger side door sill and post infront of it all back to bare metal, no most dirst or lil scabby bits left there now, all ready for the door to be musked up then i can get the stone chip out and the etch primer and start making some progress again.

all comments welcome again peeps…
