Mk 1 2 door .....( for the love of it )

About 18 months ago I got this Mk1 2 door for R600  despite everyone telling me not to , I did it ( us guys are like that )
After towing it back to my place, and asking myself why I did it .. ?.
Project 300+ will do well over 300kw ?.this is not a dream?it?s a realization that if u plan , if u research , if u have pocket that?s
deep enuf ?anything can happen !  enjoy the pics
?it was hard work , very hard , but I did it for the love of the car and ?.for all the blank expressions I?ll get from the
M3 drivers as I boost past them !

The worst thing u can do on Gods green earth is to give ur car to someone who does not share ur passion ?and whos an idiot .
This 1st spray painter promised me the WORLD , don?t worry mate , we going to make your car look great ?.NOT !!!
look what he did , looking at these pics now I want to go to him and stab him in the eye with a very long screwdriver !

I did not want the Mk1 in White  - that was the 1st problem .
 I also did not like the way he worked on the car ??.so after he called me over one day to look at his work I said to him ,
can we pull the car outside in the sun , I want to see it there ,
when he did I asked him to move back ?I
 pulled my car in , hooked up the A frame and towed my car away ?.leaving behind all the parts he removed ?.
Needless to say I was pissed  !

I was then ready to burn the golf ?parked it at home and called around ?.got a guy called Jethro ?. He looked at the car gave me a price and we moved it to his place ?..now the fun starts !




i asked him to spray the engine bay before he does the full jobby …look what he did

ok , please spray the rest of the car now , PLEASE i begged him !

one week later he called me , ( i did not pack the A frame in this time ) please come check ….

after the spray job ….i towed my Mk1 home ..

after we romoved the rear sus , i check there was a bit of rust where the susp bolts onto the body , called my dad -
 he removed the rust , welded in new fresh plates..and this only cost me 1 x Jack Daniels ….   thx dad …and JACK

Some background on Chris , he did a restore of a Mk1 2 door ?.11 pages on VW vortex ?.one of the best restored ever seen to date , this man is a Perfectionist of note   
Check what he did and check the end result?..if only my restore came out like his ??THX Chris for being my inspiration!!!!!!
