Kitch's Cabby...

Well as it says, I?m a newbie!
Feel I?m only doing my car justice by putting it up here. I haven?t done any of the exterior work and only a little on the interior.
My first plans are the essentials (Breaks aren?t the best, as are the electrics…)
Then as the pics show, needs to be lowered……ALOT on some new rims, planning on Ronal turbo?s but would like something unique (Not that I don?t think they?re unique enough, I love them, just a little pricey for a stinking student!  :wink:  )

It?s a 1.8 carb which needs a little TLC,
Paintwork is fair, few scratches and dents, most noticeably on the passengers door.
American style plates really set off the jaguar red I think, when she?s clean it looks the tits!!!!

Shortly after I?d got her I took her to France (Le Mans) in a convoy with a load of mates, we do it every year and it?s essential to sticker up the cars, so this was our effort (It?s meant to look bad, take particular notice of our excellent flames off the side repeaters  :wink:  )

maccagti , Tell me about it, I don?t think the previous owner ever even cleaned the car or the wheels, when I picked it up it was so dirty, was a little angry to say the least that the ashtray still has fag buts in (They got emptied at the next service station!!!)
I had a go at cleaning them, nothing seemed to budge the grime so I tried Mr Muscle. In hindsight it probably wasn?t my cleverest moment, I don?t recommend using heavy duty oven cleaner to clean your wheels!
I plan to change the wheels so wasn?t too hacked off.

@ Lawsy, I defiantly recommend getting yourself back to Le Mans, a lot of money has been put back into the event in recent years and if u take the Golf you'll be one of only about five there! I saw an immaculate Mk1 Gti LHD which was awesome, and one other sorry lookin cabby, not sorry enough to look rat, just needed a lot of money spending and a better owner!!!
Unfortunately the stickers are no longer on, it's great when you're all psyched up driving in convoy, not so good when u get pulled over at 6 am on the way to work!!!

@ Welsh-Mk1, Long term plans include, suspension, gotta get it on coils me thinks, (looked so much better with all our camping stuff and one extra fat mate in the back) I want that look all the time!
Wheels, sound system, generally just tidying up, I love the look of the car so nothing too major to change?
