Kawaski green Golf mk1, 1.6 polo engine on bike carbs.

I sold my other project and was thinking of buying a Honda Civic type R. But with cash in hand I couldn't bring myself to buy a modern car. and I came across this beauty on eBay and knew I had to have it. So I bidded on it and won it for £1750

It's a '83 1.3 model. But it has a MK4 Polo 8v 1.6 engine in it running 750 bike carbs. Ashely manifold and full stainless system.

I pick it up on the 28th, then driving it back, the whole 115 miles lol.

Cheers just a shame payday is too far away lol. Already paid £1500 as a deposit, just need to pay the remaining £250. I'm in love with the colour, not alot of people are though.

Going to black out the rear windows and lights (want to tone down the green abit)

Other than that I don't think I'm going to change it. Apart from bucket seats and some crosshair headlights. Can not wait. It's going to turn a few heads for sure lol

i like the colour mate, its different, if you wanted to tone it down another way you could always get bonnet ot roof vinyl wrapped in black carbon for example ?

Looks good as it is I say and please don't go tinting the windows, personally I think it looks shocking especially on pretty much any car

I had the windows blacked out on my old mk1 and it looked pretty good.

I was thinking of carbon wrapping the bonnet and roof, but thinking of just getting a bonnet bra instead.

It comes with a set of black and silver plates too, I know they're illegal, but they look awesome!

The next two weeks are going to drag like hell lol

If be proper wary paying a deposit of 1500 quid! But goo luck and it's a nice motor.  1.6 gt is a good combo the injection my mate had was quick, until it slipped a tooth gunna big jam and made horrid noises.

I kinda am. I wish I had the other £250 now so I could go pick it up. But I could of collected it straight away after the auction had finished, if I had the full ammount, so must be legit?

It comes with a spare head for that engine too, he said that if I got it skimmed, ported and polished, it'd be super quick, although he said it's fast enough already. Honestly cannot wait

If you have his address etc be ok, police and eBay

Yeah port that other head of its spare and rebuild it to learn kinda thing, doing that you may have to up main jet, and raise needle a bit but it's easy enough

To much green for my liking but black leather seats with green piping with look banging

Drove it back 115 miles, seems to be fine, apart it it idles too high, but it's off to BoggBrothers to get the carbs retuned.

It's sitting well too low for my liking. I literally hit the exhaust on everything in the road, luckily, it's on adjustable coilovers, which I'll higher up soon. It's 110mm ATM

It's rather quick of the mark, quicker than my brothers 225bhp Renault megane GTi so to speak
