Help

Hi,
posted this in a couple of places, best way to get it noticed, i need som help..

ended up disheartened yesterday and arriving home at 1:10 am, I broke down 7 times yesterday returning to the island from east grinstead, not fun sat on the side of the motorway in an old mk1 with everyone laughing and artics hurtling past, but anyway it turns out several parts of my carb are worn, along with other ignition parts, id like to go twin 40's or 45's but a single webber would do, i have to go back next sunday and really want to get her up and running again so im urgently seeking any form of webber carb (as id like to convert from the pierburg anyway so might as well kill two birds with one stone so to speak) be it twins or single (you know what id prefer   ) but obviously ill also need all the lincages etc, can anyone please help?

also needs new leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm, where is the best place to get these items and are there good sets of silicon leads around?
for some strange reason 1 & 2 leads have broken down and no.1 was arking between the end of the lead at the cap end and the metal guard around the dizzy cap, the rotor arm is also quite black and 'arked up' - the car had a service before i bought her and all this was replaced, about 2 months ago.. does anyone have any ideas?

many thanks,
Doug

if its an 8v gti engine i have a inlet manifold to fit twin webers, and also have 4 magnecor leads (the only missing on is the king lead from ignition coil to dizzy. pm me if your interested, id take about 100 for the lot

you can get any of the weber carbs, linkages and other odds and sods from euro carb, you can google the name to find there online and ebay based shops and they are really friendly

and ive broken down countless number of times, i dont find it disheartning anymore, just part of the fun :) i tend to keep a toolbox and plenty of spares with me tho

thanks i took a quick look, seemed pretty good, ill order later or tuesday morning.

its not fun once you get to the 7th time and you also have limited tools/space, didnt expect to have any probs as it runs around fine and did the trip last time without a problem and has run since without a prob, but oh well, looks like a good excuse to spend a bit of money and do a bit of a tune up too!
