Golf mk1 Driver - Berg cup

Hey everyone!

I've been involved with golf mk1's for almost 10 years now and can you believe I have never driven one!? ridiculous right? Maybe my projects have always been too ambitious…

Anyway hopefully this little guy will be with me tomorow and it will be my daily driver for a while as well as rolling project. Its a driver from 83, 1.3l , 4speed not modified at all other than the coilovers and what you can see. Oh and… it is mars red, not pink!

I haven't even got it yet and my to do list already has more that 10 points!!

i like the look of that,  big arches and bodykits dont normally work with mk1's but that looks proper mean.

ahah, those pictures are old. the car is "complete" now. MOTed and all. and by the way, a mk1 rear view mirror fits onto the top of the chassis i believe…

so I've found a rear view mirror and I know where it goes… great! I need to get some sunvisors too, but with the new cloth covering the whole ceiling I can't see were the sunvisors' screws attach to, does anyone have a picture to show me roughly?

thanks

hey everyone, had a little hiccup with the car. Filled it up and fuel started leaking everywhere from a slit pipe. I think it is that return pipe from the fuel filler neck. replaced the pipe and its fine now but either it was coincidence or actually is caused by filing the tank up the car now is definetly not running right.

very sluggish, sounds like it is running on 3 cylinders and a bit loss of power. ideas on what to check please?

thanks

Ok so it is cyl 4 not firing. just need to somehow figure out what makes electricity not flow propperly from the lead to the sprak plug when fully engaged. Fully off is the same as fully on. and just touching runs perfect as I can even see the spark bridging the gap.

sorted. turns out it was the insulation rubber around the ignition coil dizzy lead not being properly on...
