Hi everyone!

I have been on here a while now and thought its about time i showed you all my Golf!
Its a 1983 mars red gti, i brought the car about 4 months ago from a chap in cornwall and after a nice 5 hour drive with no problems Gertrude was home!
He is my second mk1 i sold my last one about 8 months ago and brought a Fiesta ST and it just wasnt the same i missed the smile i had on my face while driving a golf. My last one had an aftermarket sunroof aswell and at first i thought i could deal with it but in the end that was one of the reasons i had to sell it i needed a tin top with no sunroof as i didnt like it raining in the car when i was driving!

Here are a few pictures of my first one when i first got it and some pictures of the car just before i sold it. Needles to say the look on my mums face when i first drove it home was a look of disgust but after many hours of cleaining and puting new parts on she loved it and was almost as sad as me when it went!

Then after a weekend of cleaning . . .

And the photos for the advert when i sold it . . .

Any way George is now gone and the bloke that brought him off me was on about doing an R32 conversion but i havnt hurd or see any thing since . . .

So here is the new one hes more of a weekend car that im hoping to get to some shows in this year im the 3rd owner and it has a full service history and so much paper work i still have not gone through it all! The body work is in great condition with a few areas needing attention but its about as untouched as i could find! the car will be getting a full restoration in the next couple of months just to get it back up to its former glory not that its a bucket now im just very fussy and plan on keeping it for years to come . . . so here are some pictures for you guys.

Hope you all enjoy the pictures and i will keep you all updated!
Luke

Hi Luke,

Your new MK1 looks really good mate. Any long term plans for her?

Looks really nice, hoping I can drag my car up to the same standard!
