full restoration

I enquired about buying this car once. Still have pictures the owner sent me.

If i remember right it had series 1 interior and dash but had a series 2 rear panel. Good on you for restoring it

little bit of an update not alot really coz i been to collect a new toy as my old one was shite

cut some of the rot out ready to fabricate new panels


then started cleaning the floor


and the BEAST of a new toy

will update tomoz going to do the panel for drivers side inner wing and fabricate new door post as this 1 has been bodged

Thanks. I still think my fabing aint that good. Make it up as i go tbh.

bit of an update not to much been fabing panels

cut out half the rot as am doing it in 2 sections so the suspension turret dusnt move


panel made up what a ball ache getting the curve



then seam welder ready for smoothing

looking at your project makes me feel quite lucky,i posted pics of mine on here,take a look it has covered 87 thou on clock.i'm starting to think its genuine as there was no major rust like what your's is showing,mine is a 1.8 gti 1989 cab.you got some major work to do,,,,   ;-)

update time been puttin another door post on as the other was was rotten and bodged il let the pics do the talkin

Great work!! I wouldn't even look at a car with a quarter of the rust that your fixing. I wouldn't mind trying.
