First VW Project Mk1 golf gti
Was looking for a new project and found this golf looking sad at work and thought i had to save it !
After abit of talking i done a deal on it. The plan is to strip it down, have the body sorted out then a full respray, while that is being doing im going to rebuild the engine and source bits its missing.
I want to keep it looking orginal as possible too.
Any help or advice would be great thanks.
Heres some pics

Looks like it will a decent project, keep you busy for a while!
Got to agree mate… itdoesn't look too bad and with a few panels it'll start coming along!!
For parts I normally use funk-star. He comes along to our Milton Keynes meet and is a paid advertiser on here so saves me postage lol (I'm a skinflint  )
This really does look like the start of something good

I'm not really sure what to do next. I want to respray the car aswell as rebuild the engine etc, Which would be the best route to do:
1) Rebuild the engine, Do a resto on the underside and then respray the shell.
2) Respray the shell then do the above.
Some help would be greatful!

Spent the day sorting out the front and going over the back again. Not looking to bad now, theirs a few bits that need doing again. Also started on the inner wings too.
