First time this year!

Hi All

I've had my 81 GTi since 2006, brought her with the body work having recently been restored, the interior was a bit of a mess so I spent a summer stripping it out, cleaning it up and putting it back! Then I had to start renovating my home so the golf took a back seat and had been sitting in the garage gathering dust not miles! Finally got her out of the garage cleaned up, taxed (boo) MOT'd and insured.

Looking forward to some good drive outs this summer with Larry MK1 and any one else out there and spending more time enjoying her!

What's everyone's opinion on side stripes? I put some on a while back put the pressure washer managed to make a mess of them in parts so took them off today. Can't decide if I should replace them or not. What do you guys think?

nice car mate put the side stripes on it made a massive difference to mine i;d say go for it.  you can buy them off ebay thats where mine came from.

Isn't it nice to get back in them after sitting up for so long!!

Mines teetering on the edge of being put away for a while until I can do a bit of work on it….. but I keep saying that!!!  :roll:

Put the stripes on looks better!!!!  :wink:

how did you fit the stripes? last time I added them it was a tricky job. Is it just a case of taking your time or do you have any special tips? do you fold excess around the inside of the doors. Do you take arches off before applying?

 i did mine just took my time fold some behind the doors and also take off the arches it will make a difference
